Seeing David's (oops, and mine now) family off at Changi on the 15th July 2007.

is an amateur attempting to learn and master her favourite peranakan dishes from the cook she admires most (i.e. her grandmama), whilst also making the occasional Brit fare for her husband who decided that Singapore is the place to be at the moment so that he doesn't feel too homesick. In between these cooking experiments, she also dips into a little bit of baking, mostly brownies as she misses the ones from Castle Road, Bromham a lot, tries valiantly to finish a pair of beaded shoes embroidery, indulges in chocolate and food escapades, dreams of having lattes in Melbourne again, scours cafes around the little red dot to find a latte that is remotely as good as those in Melbourne, screams at bad drivers and pedestrians who dash across the road without a care for their life and putting hers in danger, and rolls her eyes at the incredulous consumption culture!
